Safety Your child's safety while attending PENultimate Gymnastics is a prime consideration. We have
an excellent safety record: - adult instructors supervising all classes, children
always under supervision of an instructor
- many special pieces of equipment
designed specifically to help children acquire skills in a safe manner.
- mats
and padding that far exceed the recommended amount.
- use of the Gymnastrada
Program assures the use of proper progressions and lead-ups.
- Master instructors
are Safety Certified by the United States Gymnastics Federation.
Safety Rules: All of our master instructors are Safety Certified by the United States Gymnastics Federation. We will do our utmost to
provide a safe and enjoyable experience for your child. We are required to tell you that in gymnastics as in any physical
activity, it is possible to get hurt, paralyzed or even killed. At PENultimate Gymnastics, our recreational classes are safer
because they are well supervised; our student:teacher ratio is 7:1 in Preschool classes and 8:1 in General Gymnastics Classes.
But there are still certain safety rules that must be followed. Please go over these with your child: - You
should wait in the lobby until the teacher calls you into the gym for class. Parents may sit in the lobby during their child's
class, but are not required to stay.
- APPAREL-Gymnastics apparel must fit tightly and well with no extra pockets,
straps, buckles, belts, zippers or buttons, that might hurt you, the teacher or the equipment:
- ALL
STUDENTS: Must wear the official PG apparel ... the PG T-shirt and shorts for
boys, the official leotard for girls.
- BOYS: T-shirt must be tucked-in.
- GIRLS:
tights (on the legs), please. Tight gymnastics shorts may be worn for warm-ups, but the teacher
may ask you to remove them while on the equipment (safety issue.) Gymnastics shorts are available for sale at
the gym, as well as matching schrunchies for the hair.
- Please leave jewelry at home (including watches, earrings,
rings, necklaces, etc).
- Special gymnastics shoes are not necessary, but are allowed. Sox if worn, should
be cotton.
- It is natural the first day to want to learn how to use the different pieces of
equipment in the gym, but it is important to wait until the teacher shows you what to do. NEVER try a new skill without the
teacher's permission.
- If you feel sick or need to use the restroom don't be afraid to tell the teacher.
- NEVER get on the trampoline unless the teacher is with you.
- ALWAYS try to do your best, and you
will have a great time.
